Songs of the Week #6

By Kaspar Kluth

From Pop, Rock, Deep House to Hip Hop and Jazz – this week we present you a broad selection of songs for our 6th “Songs of the week” edition. We included tracks by Mando Diao, Lord Huron, Tim Green, Busta Rhymes and Melody Gardot.

Mando Diao – Shake [Pop/Rock]

(Thomas Tarantini)

As a foretaste for their new album “Good times” the Swedish rock band Mando Diao made a pre-release with the single “Shake” – a pop song with funky electric guitar sounds. Mando Diao’s new album will be released this week (12.05.2017).

Lord Huron – The Night We Met [Folk]

(Mara Deuschle)

Lord Huron is an indie folk band from Los Angeles (US). With the track “The Night We Met” they created a beautiful, calm folk song with lyrics full of desire.

Busta Rhymes – Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Can See [Hip Hop]

(Kaspar Kluth)

This song was one of the first songs released by the rapper Busta Rhymes. The distinctive flow of the rap part and the hard beat makes this song a classic of the Hip Hop genre.

Tim Green – For A Memory [Deep House]

(Samir Ibrahim)

“For a memory” is a Deep House track by the DJ and producer Tim Green from London (UK). The track has a driving rhythm and combines a punchy baseline with synthesizer sounds and vocals.

Melody Gardot – Morning Sun [Jazz]

(Nicola Holenstein)

Melody Gardot is an American Jazz singer who writes most of her songs on her own. The inspiration for the song “Morning Sun” was the birth of her guitarist’s first son and the song is especially characterized by her warm and soulful voice.
